June 3, 2025 - Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. - D-Day Flag from Omaha Beach Among Highlights of WWII and Military Auction. A rare 48-star U.S. battle flag that flew aboard a tank landing ship during the D-Day invasion is among more than 170 featured lots in RR Auction's Fine Autographs and Artifacts Featuring World War II and Military. Flown aboard USS LST-392 during the second wave at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, the wool flag measuring 42 x 28.75 inches originates from the estate of Signalman 1st Class Donald Bousquet, who received it from the ship's commanding officer, Lt. John D. Walker. LST-392 transported troops and vehicles from multiple Army units, supported 55 cross-Channel trips, earned four battle stars, and became the first LST to deliver rail cars to Cherbourgfollowing the invasion.
